| One of the key things you need to do once you've written a great story, is make sure that others read it. A well-written post (or series of posts) can inspire others to action, bring down corrupt members of the government or help people-powered candidates win elections. But only if enough people see the post. So how do you get more people to see the post than just your normal readers? One way is Buzzflash. |

| Most of the people reading this are probably already familiar with Buzzflash as a great place to get the latest headlines and commentary from a progressive point of view. But, if you go to their Buzz page, you can drive the news on their site. You can do this three ways:
1. Submitting stories: Once you become a Buzzflash member, go to the submit page and enter the url of a post or story you think is important (yours or someone else's). They have a few rules but if you are reading this, then those rules are things you probably would've assumed already with a place like Buzzflash. If the story is approved, it has a chance at making it to a much wider audience. Way back in the day when my posts used to get only a couple dozen readers, when something got picked up on Buzzflash, it hit over a thousand readers. And that was five years ago, now it's even higher.
2. Promoting stories: Click on the Create Buzz button and you'll be taken to a list of the latest stories nominated for their quality or topic on Buzzflash. If you like a story, then click on "buzz it" and you'll help expose that story to others. You can also ask your friends to do the same.
3. Promote your own stories: Finally, if you click on the Buzz Your News button, you have a chance to make it real easy for your readers to promote your post(s) at Buzzflash. They give you the tools, including a button if you'd like one, to allow readers to "Buzz" your story from your blog. With a few simple clicks, you can get a icon like this one:

Readers who click on the button will help the story rise the Buzzflash news lists... |
